Partnership with CommunityAid

Devonshire is happy to have new way of reaching out in our community in need by partnering with CommunityAid, Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
CommunityAid is a Faith Based Non-Profit 501(C)(3) corporation (application pending) with the primary purpose of raising funds for distribution to local schools, churches, synagogues, temples, and non-profit charitable organizations. CommunityAid aspires to serve the community by creating good paying jobs which provide on-site training and coaching for our neighbors. They desire to improve the quality of life for the individuals and families in our communities by providing clothing and cash grants through their partner churches and by offering items for resale at affordable prices that meet the needs of our economically challenged neighbors.
How are we partnering with CommunityAid?
CommunityAid Clothing Collection Bin (see picture below) has been provided for Devonshire. This bin is located in the upper parking lot near the Church Annex. Our congregation and neighbors can place new and/or gently used clothing in the bin. CommunityAid will collect the donated clothing and sell it in their resale store located in Mechanicsburg. All items will be sold at the most affordable price to allow our neighbors a place where they can shop and buy what they need for their families. Excess goods will be baled and sold to overseas companies. All the income generated helps our neighbors in need and provides affordable clothing in needy countries.
We are excited about this opportunity to join CommunityAid in this grass roots charity where neighbors help neighbors.
If you know someone who needs clothes or food, you shouldn’t say “I hope all goes well for you. I hope you will be warm and plenty to eat.” What good is it to say this, unless you do something to help?
James 2:15-16
